Tribe of Noise launches online service for rights-inclusive music

Award-winning music community Tribe of Noise announces the official launch of PRO, a paid online service for the licensing of rights-inclusive music. Tribe of Noise will unveil its new service at Cannes where the largest music conference in the world, Midem, is to be held on January 30, 2012.

PRO is a ground breaking concept designed to connect the creativity of talented artists with media professionals who are seeking great music for their projects. PRO eliminates the need for music publishers, labels, and management organizations, while maintaining an easy-to-use and transparent platform that allows musicians and professionals to connect directly. Finding the right music for a professional’s next project is as simple as logging in to the website and listening to the selections of licensed music.Tribe of Noise PRO

Named by Microsoft as one of the most promising tech start ups of 2011, Tribe of Noise tested its services in the commercial industry over the course of the year. Brands such as Hunkemöller, KIA Motors and Nelly.com, expressed enthusiastic responses about the quality of Tribe of Noise’s music they found on the beta version of PRO. Since then, Tribe of Noise has been approached by international music supervisors, advertising agencies, video producers, and other media professionals who have been in discussion about upgrading the product.

For media professionals who do not find the sound that they are looking for, PRO provides a space for virtual briefings on their website. Here, professionals can immediately approach thousands of Tribe of Noise artist members with their visions for their projects so that the members can create music tailored to the professional’s needs.

“Our main objective behind PRO is to provide musicians with a platform on which they can share their music without having to sacrifice the musician’s independence in how they do so,” said Hessel van Oorschot, CEO at Tribe of Noise. “PRO makes use of the latest communication techniques and social networking which has had a remarkable effect in allowing musicians to cooperate and work with fellow musicians from around the world.”

“What makes Tribe of Noise different from the usual social networks? Tribe of Noise is focused on business opportunities, including licensing of my music for video productions, games and documentaries, and also has a team of enthusiastic community managers, sales and legal advisors to support me,” said Mary Jennings, Tribe of Noise artist and New York based successful singer-songwriter. “I can always just call and this personal approach makes Tribe of Noise unique.”

Virtual DJs play your music on TV

Amsterdam, September 19, 2009
Last week iTunes announced the comeback of the LP in digital format. Old songs get their second life in video games like Guitar Hero. And mobile apps like TheGigMap give you instant access to live gigs around the corner. Innovation in music is all around us; via digital and multimedia channels they tap into new markets.
One of the latest music initiatives is the ‘Twinners Music on TV’ pilot.
Music on TV? Isn’t MTV claiming this space since the early eighties? You are absolutely right. However, the Twinners initiative is a new interactive TV format powered by SBS, the second largest broadcaster in Europe.
Instead of a remote control your cell phone interacts with a virtual you (so called avatar) on TV. During the live TV shows you can chat, dance, visit cool places and listen to indie music played by virtual DJs.
The music played on TV is created by a worldwide group of independent musicians from the online music community Tribe of Noise. For them it is an additional opportunity to generate exposure: Two hundred million people are watching SBS worldwide. Although the TV pilot just started in Denmark on Channel 4 and 5 this week, more countries are expected to be added in the near future reaching a crowd of millions of people. An audience only signed artists like Madonna and U2 used to reach.
“Together with our Tribe members and business partners we focus on generating exposure and developing new revenue models for musicians“, says Hessel van Oorschot, co-founder of Tribe of Noise. “This pilot is a great opportunity for them and leading media enterprises to develop a future business model we all believe in.”
“According to music industry gurus the golden decades of the traditional music industry are over. So let’s focus on the opportunities ahead of us and empower independent musicians with all the innovative tools they need. Virtual DJs playing their music on TV is one of them.”

Tribe of Noise, Announces One Billion Fans Contest to Musicians and the Masses

AMSTERDAM, November 13 /PRNewswire/ — Economic downturns always affect marketing budgets from major corporations to street corner musicians. Money troubles tend to bring out fear but not so for the people at Tribe of Noise. They have just announced their One Billion Fans Contest. ONE BILLION FANS! Is that even possible, you may ask? “Go out big or just stay home,” says Chief of Noise, Hessel van Oorschot.

Here’s the deal – Fans go to http://www.onebillionfans.com and vote for
their favorite. The winner will be featured on the world’s biggest digital
billboard found in Times Square in New York City. Now that’s exposure! The
public voting contest ends on February 28th, 2009.

“Getting attention is getting money,” said Gerd Leonhard, Media
Futurist, and Author of “Music 2.0”. He is right. In an ever increasingly
crowded consumer space, companies are seeking new ways to compete with
smaller and smaller budgets. A new sound can help them create a stand-out
corporate identity but they need to find it safely and not feel threatened
by legal action or forced to pay steep finders fees.

Tribe of Noise has legally tackled the historic problem of sharing
music. It is the first and only website solely using the Creative Commons
license and user agreements to share music for commercial purposes. But
wait, Musicians and Corporations, isn’t that counterintuitive? “Nowadays
it’s about really making it all happen yourself,” said Gary Platt, winner
of RIAA Gold & Platinum Record Awards.

Corporations are also invited to join in the fun and excitement. They
can “sponsor” their current employees, friends, family or favorite musician
from their own “street corner” in the online contest.

“Wait ’til you see the One Billion Fans winner up in lights over one of
the busiest places in the world,” Mr. van Oorschot.

For additional information on the One Billion Fans contest, please
contact Sandra Brandenburg or visit http://www.OneBillionFans.com or

ABOUT Tribe of Noise – One-of-a-kind online community which allows
Independent Musicians to connect with Companies maximizing their message, building a global fan base, finding inspiration to/from musicians and enabling fans to find groundbreaking music, all legally.
